At first I was excited for the freedom that will be put into my path (which I am still excited about), and the idea of being on my own (which is actually a little frightening), but now this whole idea is actually a bit scary. I have been under the protection and advice of my parents for the past 18 years and now all of a sudden I'm being dropped off with my laundry bags and such in the middle of Baltimore into "the real world." I will no longer walking into the halls of my local high school, but now walking into a classroom with my biology professor and 24 other teens from around the country. Who, I guess, feel the same way as I do.
I will be attending Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks/15 days/360 hours I will no longer be sleeping in my own bed. I will be sharing my room (which I am used to), but with a complete stranger (which is totally out of my comfort zone). Beyond the walls of Bed Bath &Beyond is the story of every single person that shopped there for the dorm, a story unique to the person and the beginning of an unforgettable journey. Now wish me luck; or better yet, pray for me, as I begin this journey of my own!
itsss so scary isn't it?????? I mean seriously.. we're on our own now. *shudder*..... wow. well God? we'll be asking you for a lot of stuff over the next couple of months ;)
ReplyDeleteHey girl. I know how scary this all can be, even your excitement. It's really all about fear of the unknown. You can be a spontaneous risk-taker your whole life and still be scared to death of life changes like this. It seems crazy almost because people your age all over the country are doing the same exact thing, and you're all in the same boat - starting out new in this unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar faces. I'll be praying for you, but really believe everything will work out fine and you'll be making friends from day 1.
